Children’s Justice Symposium
The Children’s Justice Symposium is an annual conference for professionals involved with Utah Children’s Justice Centers. Multidisciplinary team members, local advisory boards, friends boards, state and community sponsors, state and local government representatives, law enforcement professionals, medical and mental health professionals, and CJC personnel gather to discuss issues and concerns and learn about various relevant topics.
The conference is designed to facilitate interdisciplinary communication and cooperation and to capitalize on the strength of the team approach. Both national and local speakers are brought in for training and discussion.
The Children’s Justice Symposium takes place in May each year.

Child Interview Curriculum Training & Forensic Interview Training
Utah Children’s Justice Centers (CJCs) provide a significant role in coordinating training for allied agency professionals to promote best practice standards in service delivery to child victims.
Forensic Interview Training (FIT) is a crucial service to ensure that Utah Children’s Justice Centers fulfill their mission of reducing secondary trauma and facilitating the child abuse investigative process. The training helps to ensure professionals interviewing child victims can create the best chance for healing and justice.

Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) Training
The Utah Children’s Justice Center Program and Primary Children’s Center for Safe and Healthy Families host the TF-CBT Training for mental health professionals working with abused and traumatized children. This training focuses specifically on using TF-CBT with children who have been traumatized due to sexual and/or physical abuse.
Training is provided to Master-Level Therapists who have a working relationship with their local Children’s Justice Center, including a willingness to accept referrals from the CJC after completing the training.
